Image number two in a series of three
I made this image on an overcast Sunday afternoon in the woods of North Georgia near my home. I wanted to express the feelings I had there in the quiet woods. Trees were just beginning to send out the tiniest leaf buds. It was cool and humid, peaceful and tranquil. It was one of those times in the woods when you could hear everything; see everything. The plants had not started to green out yet. The terrain of the land was plainly visible in all directions.
In the image, I did not want the details of the woods to distract from the feeling of the woods, so I intentionally moved the camera while exposing to blur them. I love the soft but crisp lines created with this technique. It perfectly conveys the quiet clarity of overwhelming crisp details in the woods.
